My husband and I returned home on Jan. 20th from a wonderful 2 week trip to Egypt using the services of Go Travel Egypt and Mr. Mostafa Mosbah. There were 4 of us, two couples, who wanted ot have the flexibility of planning a tour which met our desire to really immerse ourselves in the history of Egypt and to have the control and flexilbity that a private tour allows. We also wanted a good value. We believe we received both out of our trip. From the moment we got to the airport to the moment we left the country, the trip went very, very well.

We also had some last minute changes made by Mr. Mostafah in terms of accommodations, but were satisfied with every place that we stayed. What was a particular delight was how well Mr. Mostafa matched us with tour guides that really suited us and were open to what we wanted to learn. The experience of having university-trained Egyptologists guide us through some of the most magnificent sites I have ever seen in my world travels was amazing. The two guides we spent the most time with were Adel Abuel Naga in Cairo and Ahmed Saeed in Luxor and Answan. We learned so much from them and felt well taken care of.

One thing I would have changed, as would everyone in our party, is the night train from Cairo to Luxor, and then the return trip later in our journey from Luxor to Cairo (also at night). We asked for it enthusiastically, we got it, and we will fly next time we go to Egypt.

Some helpful hints:

1. Tipping is huge in Egypt. HUGE. Be sure to have small deonominations of Egyptian currency and coin at every turn. We even brought some small denominations of US currency to trip.

2. Service charges and taxes at meals in restaurants is also high and can add a good 25% more to the bill.

3. Vendors wanting to sell you things are at every monument and almost always you have to walk through the shops to exit the monument. We began to call it the "gauntlet."

4. There are tourist police everywhere ensuring the safety of visitors. At first, this was a bit shocking to see since it is so different than our experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, but after the initial impression, we acclimated, experienced their helpfulness in answering questions (in Cairo especially), and felt very safe throughout our trip.

All in our party felt the experience a rich one and all of us were thankful for the help of Mr. Mostafah Masbah and the wondeful people we came in contact with in Egypt.

I can't stop telling people what a wonderful trip I had in Egypt, in large part due to the services of "Go Travel Egypt" (www.gotravelegypt.com).

My husband decided he wanted to celebrate his 50th birthday in Egypt, a place he had long wanted to visit, and he wanted the flexibility of planning an itinerary of his choosing, which sometimes took us off the beaten path. He also wanted value. We decided the best way to proceed was to use the services of an Egyptian travel agent to make the most of our time and money. Over the internet, we sent out several inquiries to different agents with what we were looking for. From the beginning, we found the response and service from Mr. Mostafa Mosbah of "Go Travel Egypt" to be excellent. He really listened to what we wanted out of the trip, helped to plan an itinerary that worked for us and another couple who was traveling with us, and was responsive to our e-mail questions (there were a lot!) in a timely fashion. Quickly we knew that he was the tour operator we wanted to work with.

I must admit to some nervousness on our part at first using a travel agent so far away, especially when we had to wire one-half the cost of the trip before we got there, and pay for the other half on arrival. But I am delighted to say that everything that was promised by Mr. Mosbah was fulfilled. From pick-up at the airport in Cairo to drop-off there two weeks later, our trip went very, very well. All in our party were satisfied with the accommodations and with the touring services we received.

Of special note, we particularly enjoyed our university-trained, English-speaking Egyptologist guides that we spent the most time with - Adel Abuel Naga (in Cairo) and Ahmed Saeed (in Luxor-Aswan). Both men were deeply knowledgeable and able to make the history come to life. Both were also kind men wanting us to see the treasures of their country and appreciate them. We also appreciated their help with practical matters like taking us to banks, grocery stores, and the like to take care of our day-to-day needs on a trip. Because we were on a private tour, there was also the flexibility to stay at some sites longer that we found interesting. Here, too, our guides were very responsive to our wishes. We also found ourselves wanting to add a couple of extra things to our itinerary once we were in Egypt. For a reasonable extra charge, Mr. Mosbah made those trips possible and at the last minute provided another excellent guide (Marci) to show us the pyramids south of Giza. I also have to put in a good word for our driver in Cairo, Mr. Mostafa Khaled. In a city known for crazy driving, I always felt safe in his van and appreciated his good nature and humor.

I realized when I got home that I felt more refreshed than in trips in the past. Most often when my husband and I have traveled overseas, we have done all the planning and logistics ourselves and have a lot of experience doing it. I know without a doubt that using the services of "Go Travel Egypt" helped me to enjoy and see much more than if we had done it all ourselves. Thanks to Mr. Mostafa Mosbah and his excellent staff for making our trip one we will always remember with a smile.

It's been a week since we 4 arrived back from Egypt and fighting through the backlog of work in our in-trays! This weekend has allowed me some time to reflect on the trip and share our experiences with those intending to enlist the assistance of local tour operators based in Egypt from their respective home countries.

I'll be the first to admit my initial concerns (as listed above in my original entry) were unfounded. Everything went fairly smoothly and there were no major hiccups or unpleasant surprises. On the contrary, we had pleasant surprises! In fact, Mr Mostafa Mosbah was always on hand (via mobile phone) to inquire about how things were going. I reckon we were very fortunate to have selected Go Travel Egypt among the very many Egyptian agencies who were vying for our business....

It came as a pleasant surprise to meet him at the airport at 10pm (having completed our Cairo tour and preparing to fly out to Aswan). Here was a man focused on his job, and as we conversed, I found out how dedicated and proud he was of his reputation and company. This late-night flight to Aswan (arranged by Mostafa on his own initiative) was a consequence of a sudden increase in domestic tourism whereby sleeper train tickets had been blocked booked, pushing out smaller and individual travellers. Although this train journey was a feature in my original Itinerary, on reflection, it was a blessing in disguise. And I learnt that even if you make travel plans, you must take the unexpected in your stride. A flexible and positive attitude is advantageous
especially in Egypt where officialdom and byzantine procedures do not allow for carved-in-stone expectations to be met.

Anyway, Mostafa was kind enough to buy us coffee at the airport and to apologise for not meeting up sooner due to meetings with the Tourism ministry regarding problems he and other smaller travel agents faced vis-a-vis the 'bigger boys' of the industry. It was great to meet with Mostafa and finding out that he is a young man with a determination to succeed, and ensuring that all his clients have a most satisfying time on holiday is very much part of his passion.

Another incident that springs readily to mind is our parties' upgrade to a great hotel in Luxor on the last night of the 3 night cruise. I had complained to our tour guide at check-in that the air-con in my cabin was not working, not even after it was seen to by the cruiseboat technicians. The cruise being fully packed as it was, Mostafa got us two rooms at the grand old Sonesta St George Hotel in downtown Luxor. This was an unexpected bonus - sumptuous food, beautiful pool and great Nile view!

The only potentially 'bad experience' was our transport arrangements from hotel to the Abu Simbel Temples for the Sound & Light Show. Our tour guide had already arranged for a 6.15pm pick up at the hotel, but none came. With 15 minutes to get to the viewing stands within the big, sprawling grounds of the temples, we hurried on foot determined not to miss this very reason for our overnight in Abu Simbel. But it was a difficult trek from the hotel to the site as one of my party walked with a limp due to polio. With lots of stops and encouragement, he managed to reach the viewing platform 10 minutes after the scheduled start time of 7pm. They didn't begin the Show til 7.20pm. Thank goodness for 'Egyptian time'
which is very similar to 'Malaysian time' we learnt then.

Our tour guide Adel was every bit the professional. He was great fun and would crack jokes
like introducing us as "From Sudan!" to entrance guards and lowly officials. We're chinese Malaysians! He and the various drivers and Meet & Greet reps were helpful and courteous throughout. Another special mention goes to Mr Zakaria our driver in Cairo who very expertly handled the jam-packed streets, changed our currency and got me a SIM card for my mobile phone.

I, and the rest of my companions, would not hesitate to recommend Mostafa Mosbah who, you can be sure, will do his utmost to make your private tour of Egypt a fantastic one. Allow for changes to your planned itinerary and keep an open, positive mind. With a reputable and hard-working agent like Mostafa on your side, these unexpected hiccups may turn out to be positively pleasant, if not a bonus!

Las Vegas

Jun 29, 2010

We did an extensive amount of research in preparation for our 10-day trip to Egypt for our family of 4 in June 2010. We selected Go Travel Egypt and are very pleased that we did.

In the months leading up to our departure, Mostafa quickly responded to our multiple questions and inquiries regarding itineraries, pricing and travel details. We told him of the destinations and sights we wanted to see and he customized an itinerary that met our objectives. He never said no and was able to accommodate all of our requests.

In 10 days, we were able to visit and spend quality time at many of the highlights of Egypt, including Cairo, Giza, Saqqara, Alexandria, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Nile Cruise, Luxor, Abydos and Dendara. They even arranged for a car to take us from Cairo across the Sinai to Taba, where we crossed into Israel.

Our guides in Upper and Lower Egypt (Ahmed and Adel) were knowledgable, tireless and engaging. They were a delight to spend time with and seemed to enjoy sharing their knowledge about ancient and modern Egypt.

The professionalism, pricing and attention to detail provided by Mostafa, Ahmed and Adel made this the trip of a lifetime.

My Son and I recently returned from our tour of Egypt and cannot express our gratitude enough to Mostafa and his fantastic teams for the amazing tour. I have traveled extensively and I have never had such a fantastic experience with a tour operator. I was hesitant to use an agent that I only knew through the web and had to wire money to. I was concerned about coming off the plan and there would not be anyone. My concerns were for nothing. First - the pricing beats anything anyone else has posted, the accomodations were as expected and very good, and having compared our guides with others we met on the trip, I know we got the best of Egypt.
Then from the moment we came through passport controls to our return to the airport 9 days later, we were in the best of care. Mostafa, the guides, the drivers and greeters took excellent care of us and moved us from place to place, site to site without any effort.
As with all trips, there are bumps along the way and plans change. We had a couple changes, but all was managed by Mostafa without any disruption to our tour and we recieved everything and more that we were promised. The guides, Adel, Ahmed, and others were so knowledgeable and their love of Egypt and its history was infectious. One of the biggest surprise for me was that throughout the trip, Mostafa contacted us and asked how everything was and kept in touch. Our last day we had the great pleasure of sitting around and talking with Mostafa, Adel and "Easy" and left Egypt knowing we will be back to visit our new friends.

Hi everyone
We've just returned from a month in Egypt, Jordan and Syria, and had a ball. Because of limited time in Egypt (and lots of things we wanted to do) our trip within Egypt was organised by a Cairo travel agent, Mostafa Mosbah of Go Travel Egypt (mostafa@gotravelegypt.com, Mobile :             +2010 8484317       ). Can I just say that Mostafa was fabulous : (a) he was really responsive all last year to my endless queries and itinerary changes (b) his price for 5 people to do a comprehensive tour of Egypt including cruise, flights, etc was incredibly reasonable (c) when my suitcase didn't turn up in Cairo (as I later discovered, thanks to Sydney airport not loading it on the plane) Mostafa swung into action on my behalf and had the suitcase brought from Australia and delivered to my hotel before we left Cairo (d) Mostafa came to the hotel in Cairo to make sure we liked it and (e) Mostafa texted me on my phone several times while we were touring to make sure everything was going well and (f) we didn't have to pay a cent until just before the tour started, when we paid half, and the balance after we arrived in Cairo.
Mostafa - you were brilliant, I recommend you most highly, and I'd gladly use you again!!

My family just returned from two amazing weeks spent in Egypt thanks to Go Travel Egypt. Organizing our personalized tour with Go Travel Egypt tours operator Mostafa Mosbah was so easy and the entire trip went like clock work. I found Go Travel Egypt on the web and choose that particular company because it was Egyptian based and when travelling I always prefer to use local companies and what a great choice it ended up being. Our personalized tour was beyond our expectations. Our tour guide, Adel was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His passion for Egyptian history and culture was contagious. Our Nile Cruise was a dream and the stops along the way were fantastic. Our second week was spent in Sharm El Sheikh for diving. Red Sea diving is everything you have heard/read about. Visibility is amazing. The dive boats/guides were all first rate. Our days off from diving were spent at the beautiful Terrazzina beach where the service and servers where warm and friendly. I can just not say enough about what a fantastic holiday this turned out to be and all thanks to Mostafa at Go Travel Egypt. Highly recommended.

20 Aug 2010

My two children and I recently returned from a trip to Egypt that included a Nile cruise and Cairo tours with Mostafa Mosbah of Go Travel Egypt. I investigated many other tour operators in advance, and Mostafa was well reviewed on other sites, so I began to correspond with him about a possible tour. He was responsive and attentive from day one, and over two months we were able to figure out the best plan for my two children (18 and 20) and me. I had many, many questions, and he was patient and responsive. We decided to have two days of private tours in Cairo, led by Adel, a wonderfully knowledgeable young man who majored in Egyptology. He arranged for my daughter's dream - a camel ride at the pyramids. I read so many horror stories about the camel rides that I expected the worst, but Adel knew a great character who took both of my children on awesome rides, let them take as many pictures as they wanted, even had his camel kiss them! There was no bargaining or funny business, it was all perfect. Adel also protected us from the hawkers and street vendors at the Giza - they are there to take your money and he was quite protective. Our van was fully air conditioned and extremely comfortable and modern - important in Egypt in the summer, and our wonderful driver was always waiting with the air conditioning running and a cool van for us to collapse into after our hot tours.
We then moved on to our Nile Cruise. After looking at various cruise ship options provided by Mostafa/Go Travel Egypt, I chose the M/S Emilio. I made the right choice - it was modern and comfortable and their triple cabin was fine for the three of us. My only criticisms are their internet service (promised but not available) and the lack of variety in the food. This was an independent cruise line, so had nothing to do with Go Travel Egypt - it was the one I chose. Our guide for the rest of the tour, Ahmed Sayeed, is an amazing man full of knowledge, kind and friendly, and the type of person who is easy to be around for the five days we traveled together. He was both mellow and relaxed but also intensely passionate and knowledgeable about Egyptian history and politics at the same time - the perfect combination for my family. We learned an incredible amount of information about Egypt while seeing the sights, and Ahmed shared it in a way that personalized it and did not make it feel like "school". He was also very flexible if we were tired or wanted to shift an itinerary slightly in an area - we would just change plans on the spot - this was an option that was very important to me when I booked the tour. He became more than our guide - he became a friend. His dry sense of humor meshed perfectly with ours and we all had a fabulous time seeing the incredible sights of Egypt along the Nile together.
From start to finish, Mostafa and Go Egypt Tours met and exceeded my expectations. The price was reasonable for the deluxe level of tour that I wanted, Mostafa was open to my creating the itinerary and selecting the cruise ship, he was available by cell at all times while we were in Egypt, and above all, the service was personal and attentive from day one - just for the three of us. We felt so lucky and special when we saw those huge tour buses filled with tourists led by a single guide - that is NOT the expereince we wanted and it couldn't have been further from the amazing experience we had with Go Travel Egypt.

I readily admit that I am not the easiest of people for whom to plan a trip; with over 80 visited countries between us, my husband and I know exactly what we want and I usuallt plan my own trips, after doing extensive research. I have found, however, that when traveling to places where language and customs may present communication problems, it is better to work with a native travel agent in the country to be visited. Thus, we were fortunate enough to find and plan our two week private tour of Egypt with Mr. Mostafa of GoTravelEgypt.com.

Mostafa and I planned this trip, via e-mail, for over four months. His patience and expertise were most appreciated-all replies were immediate, his suggestions invaluable and his execution of my requests precise. When I discovered that due to certain membership programs to which we belong allowed me to book one hotel and our Nile cruise at a considerably lower rate, he was completely open to letting me make these arrangements solo.

Our trip in late September, 2010 exceeded all of our expectations. There was not one glitch in the entire trip (except for the cruise booking that I made and which Mostafa was on top of and corrected. Every transfer (airports, hotels, private tours) was on time to the minute. Our guides (Mousi in Cairo and Ahmed from Luxor to Abu Simbel) both held Master's degrees in Egyptology, were charming, knowledgible, flexible and soke perfect English. They took such good care of us that I had no need to think of any details during the 15 days. Transportation was provided in new, air-conditioned vans.

Mostafa checked in with us by phone on a regular basis to make sure everything was going well and when we met face to face in Cairo (both u[pon arrival and departure) I was even more impressed. While I initially felt some trepidations about sending our deposit via wire transfer, my fears were completely unfounded. Mostafa asks to be paid in cash for a number of reasons (banking proceedures, need for an initial outlay of cash to secure bookings and the exchange rate), he is a man of great honor and completely trustworthy.

This was one of our, "Trips of a Lifetime," and the reality more than lived up to my planning fantasies.

My friends and I have returned home last week from our amazing trip to Egypt. We booked our 17 Day Tour with Go Travel Egypt and it was exceptional. This trip was more than what we had expected in many ways and I was truly very sad to leave.

Our Tour Guide Adel Abuel Naga was worth every penny. His English was excellent, knowledge and passion for his country was very inspirational.

We were greeted at the airport by Mostafa Mosbah. Mostafa is a very professional, honest and an extremely gentle person. He takes such pride in his work and country. So much to be admired for.

Wow as for driving. I’m certainly glad I don’t drive there. The drivers are very experienced in their driving, at first you may be nervous, but we got over that very quickly when we realized this is how they all drive. They honk their horns as a way of communicating and by the end of the trip we were very use to it. As for crossing the road, you will need to trust your guide. He will hold your hands and you just need to follow him.

As we found out there is no drinking in Egypt, this was quite funny for we do enjoy our wine :-) The hotels serve alcoholic drinks, but they can be very expensive.

In Cairo we stayed at the Four Season’s First Residence and it was so amazing. The service was impeccable and food was delicious. I would highly recommend the Four Seasons. There is nothing like a comfortable bed to sleep in after a long day tour and great service.

My Friend and I landed in Cairo two days earlier than our other two friends. Mostafa and Adel were kind enough to take us on the River Boat Dinner Cruise and it was so amazing (I do not recall the price, but it was not expensive). On the boat you will receive a buffet dinner and show. The next day they took us to the market.

The following day our friends arrived and we started our tour. In Cairo we went to the Citadel of Slah Al-Din, Museums, Old Coptic Church, Synagogue of Ben Ezra, Citadel of Saladin and Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrassa, walked in the open streets of Al Kahira Al- Fatimiya and enjoyed local drinks in the market at Khan-El Khalili.

I also requested to go to a reputable jeweler and Adel took us to Tobaz Bazaar (Sam) and I was extremely pleased with my purchase and price. Sam speaks very good English. There you will see prices on the items but you can still negotiate a price. At the markets and elsewhere there are no prices and you just need to negotiate which can be tiring. You can imagine what Adel had to go thru having 4 girls buy and needing him to help…..hahahahaha.

We went to Giza to see Mit Rahina Museum, Sphinx and massive statue of Ramses 1. The Great Pyramid, Giza Pyramids. They offer the first 100 people to go into The Great Pyramid for $100.00 LE. This was great. It is a high climb and musty, and finally at the top you enter the chamber. Road on Camel which was so much fun in the desert! Visited the papyrus institute

We then headed flew to Abu Simbel. This was my favorite place. We visited the magnificent temple of Ramses II (my mouth dropped at this site).

We then flew to Aswan another one of my favorites and toured Temple of Philae or temple of Isis, Felucca around Elephantine Island and the Botanical GardenKom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple.

We then embarked the MS/Jazz Minerva for the Nile Cruise to Luxor. We sailed to Kom Ombo, Edfu " visited the temple of Gods Horus (son of Osiris), sailed thru the Esna Lock to Luxor. Lots of people like it, but for myself, that is one part I think I would skip out on. I truly enjoyed meeting many tourists on the cruise and they have a theme night where you dress up in costumes they have belling dancing and contests which was so funny. The rooms are small, but clean.

We visited the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, and The two Colossi of Memnon.

We departed the Cruise and toured Luxor another great place to see. We visited Karnak Temple; Luxor Temple (enjoyed this place very much!)

We then departed by flight to Hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for 3 days. This was my second most favorite place. If you like to relax at a resort and swim, snorkel, dive or just shop, you will love it. I have never seen such beautiful corals and reefs as I have here at the Hyatt. In the evening we took a cab into the city and just had fun shopping and watching the shows. This place would be like our Las Vegas but not as big of course. Great night life and such a fun place to be.

We visited the St Catherine's Monestary and climbed Mt. Sinai to see the sunset. You can ride a camel half way. What an amazing spiritual place. A must!

We then flew to Jordan and stayed at the Four Seasons in Amman. Jordan is very different then Egypt. Very beautiful.
We swam in the dead sea at Amman Beach which was a real neat experience. Toured St. George’s Church in Madaba and Mt. Nebo and then went to the Kerak Castle Fortress and then to Wadi Rum and enjoyed a 2hr 4 WD to visit Lawrence well, the Nabatian Tombs, drawing on the wall and other natural sites.

We made our way to Petra and stayed at the Movenpick Nabatean Castle. Wow what a place to see, wish we would have spent two nights there. There are two Movenpick so make sure you pick the Castle. The view is breathtaking. We spent a full day in the ancient city of Nabatians. We were so lucky with the tour guide we had. We climbed the mountain and saw sites that no one else other than the guides travel thru. We reached the top to overlook the Treasury and Theatre. I will never forget this place. After the 10 hour day hike, we went to a Turkish bath which was so refreshing and so much fun! Then headed for a 3-4 hour drive back to Amman.

The next day we headed back to Cairo and as our final destination we went to Alexandria. That was another one of my favorite places (on the Mediterranean). We visited Amud El-Sawari, Kom El-Shuquafa Monuments and Bibliotheca Alexandrina. We had lunch at a 5* Fish Market which was unbelievable great!

Next day we headed home and Egypt stole my heart!

I truly feel that if it wasn’t for Go Egypt Travel (Mostafa and Adel), this trip would never be what it was. I truly can not thank them enough for all thier time, effort, compassion and professionalism they took to please and make our trip so memorable.

Be upfront and honest with Mostafa and he will honestly answer any questions you have.

Water: It was really hot when we were there in September. So as you probably have guessed cold water went warm really fast, so I put fresh mint leaves and lemon in my water bottle and it made drinking warm water a lot easier. There were times in the desert where you could not purchase water, so make sure you have enough. If you are extremely sensitive to the sun, I would suggest taking an umbrella.
