the Temple of Zeus and the unusual oval shaped Forum; behind them,
there are the South Theatre, 5000 seats and the Cardus, a 600 mt. long
columned street. Amazing is the Temple of Artemides. Proceeding west
from Jerash, through pine forest and olive groves you meet AJLOUN,
here the famous Castle called Qal'at ar-Rabat, is a fine example of Islamic
architecture, a fascinating warren of towers, chambers to explore
a wonderful sight of the Jordan Valley. Back to Amman Overnight.

Day 03: |
Breakfast. Visit to MADABA: famous as "the Mosaic City" it conserves
one of the most important pieces of historical and religious issue:
Palestine's' Map, in Saint George' Orthodox Church, representing 150
locations inhabited by the 12 tribes of Israel.
Many other sites to visit as: Palace Burnt, the Church of Martyr's, Church
of the Virgin Mary and the Apostles' Church, all of them rich in musive
masterpieces. MOUNT NEBO is nearby. It is the highest cliff of the Moabites
Mountain's chain where there is the sepulchral site of Moses. The mostly
important monument over here is the Church, under the Custody of Holy
Land Franciscan Order, given by King Abdullah II. This place is rich of old
structures in-discovering, and many mosaics under repair. Drive through
the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib to the walled Crusader town of
AL KARAK. The history of Kerak goes back before Christ. It was on the
routes of the ancient caravans more than 2,000 years ago, it played a role
in Greek and Roman history, and was known as Kir, Characmoba, and
other names, also in the Bible. Actually, al-Karak is derived from karka,
which is Aramaic for "the walled town or city". The Crusaders rediscovered
the strategically importance of the town, and in 1132AD the castle was
built. Continuing for PETRA. Accommodation & Overnight.
|
Day 04: |
Breakfast. Full day visiting the nabatean, rose-red city of PETRA.
Petra is an amazing place. It is declared UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Much of Petra's appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside
a narrow desert gorge. From the main entrance, you walk into the chasm
, or "siq", that ripped through the rock in a prehistoric quake. Petra's most
famous monuments are the Treasury, a 3000 seats Theatre, a Palace Tomb in the Roman style, a gigantic 1st century Deir( Monastery ) and a modest
shrine commemorating the death of Aaron, brother of Moses,
atop Mount Aaron in the Sharah range.
Hotel overnight in Petra.

Day 05: |

of Jordan's desert landscapes. There are many ways to experience Wadi
Rum; serious trekkers will be drawn to Wadi Rum, with challenging climbs
, while casual hikers can also enjoy an easy course through the colorful
sandstone hills and canyons. Tourist with a high sense of adventure will
want to hiking and cliff climbing on Jabal Ramm, Jordan second's highest
mountain. Those of a calm disposition will probably prefer a camel ride or
a night under the stars in a Bedouin tent. Red anemones, poppies and the
striking Black iris, Jordan's national flower, grow at will by the oadside
and in more quite reaches. Other than desert experience, we can see the Nabatean Temple, the Desert Patrol Fort, and the Royal Society for the
